Food Review

A week in January 2017

Wednesday Jan 11: Beef & Mushroom Ragu with Potatoes

Wow. This was a pretty impressive meal! The potatoes are always very good and crispy, and (although I don’t personally like mushrooms) the meat was amazing, with a savory sauce and little pizza bites on the side.

My rating: 9/10

Thursday Jan 12: Turkey Chili with Cornbread & Hot Cocoa (!)

This was a pretty good meal! The chili was good. Can we have some more beans? Those were good beans. Although the cornbread was a little sweet for my taste. I rate the food a 7/10, but the hot cocoa was amazing as always, bringing up my overall total rating by a point.

My rating: 8/10

Tuesday Jan 17: Roasted Pork Loin with Guayaba BBQ Sauce & Wild Rice Pilaf

The meat today was delicious! I’m not quite sure how I felt about the greens; they had an odd, salty seasoning and were pretty bitter. The pork and rice were both excellent, and the pizza disappeared very quickly!

My rating: 9/10

Thursday Jan 19: Beef Lomo Saltado with Basmati Rice & Cheese Sandwiches

The Branson kitchen staff makes a mean grilled cheese! The beef was also very good, but the potatoes it came with were a bit floppy and undercooked. The rice tongs remain a frustrating element of the Branson lunch experience.

My rating: 7/10

Friday Jan 20: Baked Red Snapper with Cream Sauce & Lemon Saffron Rice

Fish Friday! The rice was a rather alarming shade of yellow but quite tasty. Tongs continue to perplex and frustrate. The greek salad was very good.

My Rating: 8/10
